In 1963, the Organization of African Unity announced May 25 as African Liberation Day. In connection with this event in BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov brought together the representatives of the continent, studying in Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University, VG Belgorod State University, Belgorod Agricultural Academy, Belgorod State Institute of Culture and the Arts.

Today BSTU representative, Evgeniy Kapustin, Director of the center of international education and cooperation met a Nobel Prize winner, Professor Tom Otiti and the manegerial staff of Makerere University. in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.

For several months Sara Modd form France has been on internship at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. She is a student of Graduate School of Translationlocated in the French city of Nantes (Brittany). The French girl arrived in Russia to better understand the language of Chekhov, Bulgakov, Pushkin, as well as mentality of the Russian people. Sarah is teaching French, giving classes for students of our university, participates in the the activities of French Club, on the basis of the French resource center.

Traditionally, during the nice days of May preparatory faculty for foreign citizens and Centre for international education and cooperation arranges a Health Day for foreign students. Health Day usually takes place at the city recreation centers to ensure that foreign students do not only become better acquainted with the Russian nature, culture and history , but have the opportunity to spend time with their groupmates and teachers in a friendly atmosphere, in the open air.

Over 180 people from 36 countries are taking courses at the preparatory faculty for foreign students of our university this academic year, which is 8% more than in the past academic year. The staff of this department is arranging numerous activities to ensure that foreign students are not only able to adapt more quickly to life in Russia, but also to understand and accept its culture, customs and traditions, the staff pays great attention to familiarize students with significant events in theRussian history.

The collection of awards of “Alliance” vocal group, music director – Uruzmag Tandelov, was complemented with another high prize.

On May 7, 2012 Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by a delegation of representatives of the University of Nis (Serbia): Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Evitsa Petrovich, Deputy Dean for Research, Doctor of Economics., Professor Dejan Spasich. The purpose of the visit was further cooperation between the Faculty of Economics, University of Nis and the Institute of Economics and Management at BSTU. Shukhov, as well as development of joint exchange programs for academic staff and students.

On May 4, our university received the delegation of Kharkov National Academy of Municipal Economy (KNAME). The purpose of the visit of our Ukrainian colleagues, was the development of cooperation in the educational environment, learning experiences of distance education institution at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, signing cooperation agreements and the establishment of regional information and methodological center of distance education in Kharkiv.

On March 27 at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov organized a webinar, which was attended by leading Russian scientists in the field of building materials from a number of Russian regions - Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Buryatia, Penza. And also - Germany and Ukraine.
