Sarah Modd from France is building friendship bridges
For several months Sara Modd form France has been on internship at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. She is a student of Graduate School of Translationlocated in the French city of Nantes (Brittany). The French girl arrived in Russia to better understand the language of Chekhov, Bulgakov, Pushkin, as well as mentality of the Russian people.
Sarah is teaching French, giving classes for students of our university, participates in the the activities of French Club, on the basis of the French resource center. Anyone, who knows this girl, likes her sincerity, sociability, sense of humor. Student exchanges with the French party is carried out in accordance with the agreement signed four years ago between BSTU and the Slaventure company.
Before coming to Belgorod, Sarah, who also speaks English, had already visited in Pyatigorsk, Astrakhan, Moscow, St. Petersburg. In her plans for the coming summer is visiting the Baikal lake. She likes dedication, curiosity of our youth she communicates with. The Russian young people express keen interest to the lives of their French peers, the culture of a friendly country.
Sarah says she is lucky to lives to share a room in a dormitory with the President of the Students Council, Natalia Gaina. The girls talk a lot, exchange views on various issues. This helps them not only to know each other better, but to understand the mentality of French and Russian people.
On her own part, Sarah Modd makes a contribution to bring our two peoples together. During the meetings of the French club the students cook national dishes, celebrate important French holidays, watch movies, participate in discussions. Sarah can consider her mission accomplished, if the students learning French, will carry love for France through the whole of their lives - a country that gave the world the great writers, poets, artists, public figures and scientists and established itself as a fashion centre.
