Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov is extending cooperation borders with Serbia.
On May 7, 2012 Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by a delegation of representatives of the University of Nis (Serbia): Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Evitsa Petrovich, Deputy Dean for Research, Doctor of Economics., Professor Dejan Spasich. The purpose of the visit was further cooperation between the Faculty of Economics, University of Nis and the Institute of Economics and Management at BSTU. Shukhov, as well as development of joint exchange programs for academic staff and students.
During the visit the guests met with the Rector of the University. Doctor of Economics, professor S.N.Glagolev, during which Sergey Nikolaevich talked about our university, its structure, faculty, academic schools of the university, as well as specialization areas and courses for training future professionals for the construction and building industry as a whole.
BSTU Rector stressed that in 2011 the University was listed into the top 22 leading technical universities in Russia, and in 2012 became the winner of the student self-government. Sergey Nikolaevich told the guests about the plans for the construction of new university buildings and technical facilities.
Representatives of the state friendly to Russia spoke about the plans for cooperation between the University of Nis and BSTU, thanked the rector of the university, professor S.N.Glagolev for the hospitality in the land of Belgorodia.
After the official visit the guests were invited on a tour of the university, where they were presented a wonderful excursion program, prepared by the Director of Museum and exhibition complex T.L. Konoreva. The students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Nis, who came to BSTU for internship under one month exchange program joined the official guests. The guests looked at the photo gallery of distinguished and honorary professors of the university, visited the central control room, where they were told about energy saving and safety systems at the university. Then the delegation from Serbia proceeded to the museum and exhibition center, where they saw current exhibitions and an exhibition dedicated to the Victory Day. The tour also included visiting a newly built swimming pool and a students’ dormitory.
During the visit the guests are planning to meet with the director of the Institute of Economics and Management, PhD, professorof Yu.A.Doroshenko, a sightseeing tour of Belgorod, as well as participate in a celebrating program of the Victory Day.
