French students taking a summer Russian language course at BSTU had an excursion trip to the Holy Trinity Holkovsky cave monastery as part of their cultural program. When familiarizing with the cave monastery the foreigners provide insight into the power of the spirit of Russian people, their unbending will and unswerving faith. Visiting the monastery, communication with the Father Superior, who told about the history of the monument of spiritual culture, has made an indelible impression on the visitors.

In the mid July Novogurovski cement factory in Tula region was put into operation. Delegation from Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University headed by professor V.S. Bogdanov, Director of the Institute of Equipment and Complexes, took part in the opening ceremony together with other 150 participants. The new factory meets all up-to-date requirements with the output as high as 2 million ton of cement a year

On July 21 a delegation of representatives from one of Europe's largest cement producers - JSC "Lafarge Cement" visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on a business trip. Among the guests –was a Coordinator for Technological Cooperation of the French Embassy in Russia Mathieu Girard and head of sustainable construction and affordable housing Constantine Korotov. The purpose of the visit of cement specialists was the expansion of cooperation between the both parties.

the last match of the 2011 European Beach Handball Championships – the men’s final – was played in Umag, Croatia. In the final the Croatian favourites won the first set. The second set was very tight, as the Russians put more pressure on the hosting nation. Four seconds before the end, the Russians had the chance to equalise, being one point behind and one player up due to a suspension. But they did not manage to score, and the title went to the hosts Croatia.

On July 15 the students delegation from Serbia (the University of Nis) arrived at Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University. The purpose of their visit is internship practice in the companies in Belgorod. On the first day Serbian students had a tour of the university, during which they got acquainted with the achievements and material base of the university. At the weekend the students went on a sightseeing tour where they got an idea of the history and culture of the region.

This summer, the international students’ summer construction team called "Belogorie' includes foreign students, citizens of the countries in Africa, Asia, South America. Their total number is over thirty people.

Traditionally the representatives of Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov went to Serbia this summer. Our students and 2 representatives from BSTU international centre visited the town of Nis, and attended Beograd Summer Economic School. The students and staff members got the certificates of completion from Beograd Summer Economic School.

On June 16-23, 2011 Beijing hosted a representative conference "Innovations in international education. Export of educational services and advanced programs of higher education in Russia "(the Day of Russian higher education assistance through the International Forum on Education) in China (Beijing).”. Our representative, Eugeniy Kapustin, director of the Centre of International Education and Cooperation took part in the event.

The delegation of French students from the University of Strasbourg and the Graduate School of Marketing are on a visit at Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov. Within a month the envoys from France will study the Russian language on the basis of French linguistic resource center at the university. In addition to the intensive training course the program of the visit includes sightseeing tours around Belgorod and the region. On July the sixth the cultural program started with a visit to the diorama museum "The Battle of Kursk."

Within the framework of international cooperation Konstantin Sobolev, assistant professor, "Civil Engineering and Mechanics," Department, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, United States, visited our university.
