On September 30, 2011 Chinese students arranged an exhibition in the main entrance of Belgorod State Technological Institute named after V.G. Shukhov, which was dedicated to the establishment of Peoples’ Republic of China (1st of October). On October 1, 4 Chinese students form the institute of Culture and art joined 18 BSTU students to visit Belgorod State historical museum.

So on the eve of their national and state holidays, students from China and Nigeria, who came to study at Belgorod Shukhov decided to organize an exhibition of national cultures. On the display there were necklaces, figurines, magnificent robes of African shamans, Chinese Fans, Asian coins and much more.

On September 30 BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov held an annual meeting of foreign students with the migration service and law enforcement agencies in Belgorod. The staff of the migration service consulted foreign students on obtaining Russian citizenship. Students were explained the provisions of current immigration laws regulating the procedure for work permit and were told about the rules of stay in Russia, obtaining temporary residence permits and residence permits in Russia. Head of security department of the university S.M. Hlypalov reminded students about the rules of access control at security checkpoints and security regulations.

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Anatolievich Medvedev of September 28, 2011, Anna Bukhalo, general director of Open JSC “Neocomposite”, director of Innovation design office at BSTU, candidate of technical sciences, Chairwoman of all-Russian Public organization “MIR” (Young innovative Russia), became a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

it was agreed to organize language training courses for the university staff to study the Arabic language. Classes will be conducted by the advisor to the Rector for International Affairs, Dr. Yaser Allaham. The training program is not limited by learning language only, additionally they are supposed to include familiarization with the culture and traditions of the Arab people and learning oriental dance. The first lesson in a course will be held on October 18 at 16.00

Traditionally, the beginning of the school year at Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov coincides with the opening of the new season for lovers of French language and culture, "French cafe". This academic year a new assistant from France Moriner Sarah Maud is responsible for the cultural work with the students coming to the resource center.

On September 21, BSTU Chancellor, Professor S.N. Glagolev met the representatives of foreign students studying at the university. For and on behalf of the Embassy of Iraq in Russia, Dr. Yasser Allaham awarded an honorary diploma to Sergei Nikolaevich Glagolev "For outstanding contribution to the establishment and promotion of cultural and scientific cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the Russian Federation.

During the meeting of BSTU delegation in the French Embassy the delegation members were presented information on projects being implemented in Russia by "Lafarge"company. It was offered to discuss issues of mutual cooperation between the French party, BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov and open JSC "Rosnano", particularly in the area of the effective use of the unique clay types, being in the of development areas of cement plants to be constructed.

The students of Transportation Technology Institute Anastasia Korotkova and Julia Morozova told about the current rersearch of roads in Germany. This summer, Anastasia and Julia, were on internship practice in «Heller Engineering Ltd» and "TUV Rheinland Schniering" , German road companies involved in monitoring and research of roads.

The traditional annual International Festival of Slavic Culture "Hotmyzhskaya Autumn" has been held in our region for the eighth time. This year's forum was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Joasaph, Bishop of Belgorod. On September 18 guests, creative teams in many regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, representing different genres of folk culture (instrumental, music and song, dance) and master of arts and crafts came to the village Hotmyzhsk, Borisovka area. The delegation of Belgorod state technological university named after V.G. Shukhov also had a chance to approach Slavic peoples' origins and heritage.
