Golden Hotmyzhsk
The traditional annual International Festival of Slavic Culture "Hotmyzhskaya Autumn" has been held in our region for the eighth time. This year's forum was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Joasaph, Bishop of Belgorod. On September 18 guests, creative teams in many regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, representing different genres of folk culture (instrumental, music and song, dance) and master of arts and crafts came to the village Hotmyzhsk, Borisovka area.
Within the framework of the event, the heads of three regions of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus (Borisov, Hlusk, Zolochiv) have signed a brotherhood agreement, on the basis of which joint programs in various spheres of life - economics, culture, social policy will be developed.
The delegation of Belgorod state technological university named after V.G. Shukhov also had a chance to approach Slavic peoples' origins and heritage. The festival was attended by university president, Professor A.M. Gridchin, director of the Institute of process equipment and engineering, Prof. V.S. Bogdanov, head of the department of physical culture and sports, PhD, Professor S. Kramskoy, and other officials, as well as foreign students both from senior courses and the preparatory faculty for foreign students.
Preparatory faculty gives much attention to arranging numerous events to make foreign students not only be able to more quickly adapt to life in Russia, but also to understand, adopt its culture, customs and traditions. Young men and ladies from different countries were watching what was happening with great interest, feeling happy they were having fun with folk groups and guests of the festival. Maybe the students, who just started learning Russian were not able to understand everything, however good thoughts and pure feelings, aroused by the festival, were understood and shared by all the viewers.
