On the January 6, 2018, sports complex of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hosted the fourth annual football tournament among international students "Christmas Cup", in which teams from Ghana, Angola, Benin and the African team took part. The event was prepared and checked by the employees of the department for work with foreign students.

BSTU student's palace of culture was crowded by students of the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens and their curators who were celebrated New Year and Christmas.

The 1st All-Russian Conference for PR-Employees of Russian Universities named "Paradoxes of Information Openness" took place at Moscow, where the best press services of universities of the country were awarded.

On the occasion of the 47th National Day of the Sultanate of Oman the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman H.E. Mr. Yousuf Al Zadjali invited as an honored guest vice rector in international affairs of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov -prof. R.V. Lesovik.

This time, the BSTU named after V.G.Shukhov took 65th place among the Russian universities in the Round University Ranking (RUR Ranking) - the international rating of universities, which assesses the effectiveness of 930 leading universities in the world on 20 indicators.

In the basic university of the Belgorod region under the program of academic exchange arrived 37 students from Hulunbuir University (China).

On the eve of the International Students the competition in mini-football - "Autumn Cup"took place on the base of our university, organized by the department for work with foreign students of the university with the support of the Department of Physical Education and Sports.

Preparatory faculty for foreign citizens was celebrating 10 years anniversary. It is the first round date. Started with the initiation of newcomers to the students of the faculty, which was held on November 10th in the disco hall of the Student Palace of Culture.

The International Scientific and Practical Conference "Students' Participation in Ensuring Complex Security, Prevention of Extremism, Terrorism and Anti-Corruption Activities in Educational Institutions" is held at the basic university of the Belgorod Region.

BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov continues to get high positions in various ratings. Thus, at the end of October, the analytical center "Expert" estimated the demand for inventions of Russian universities, the quality of their development and the basic conditions.
