Christmas Cup for foreign students
On the January 6, 2018, sports complex of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hosted the fourth annual football tournament among international students "Christmas Cup", in which teams from Ghana, Angola, Benin and the African team took part. The event was prepared and checked by the employees of the department for work with foreign students.
In the first match, the African team defeated Benin 2: 1, in the second in a bitter struggle Angola defeated Ghana - 1: 0. In the match for the third place, Ghana literally "wrested" the championship from the team of Benin. The final game became really spectacular, events developed dynamically throughout the game, not letting go of the fans' attention. But, having started the game well, the national team of Africa could not keep the Angolans who did not let their rivals out of the sphere for the whole second half. As a result, with the result of 3: 1, Angola won the tournament for the second time in a row.
Head of the department for work with foreign students of the university said that such sports events always gather a large number of foreign students, not only as players, but also as supporting the teams in the stands, because the site is very serious struggle. The footballers try to show themselves to the maximum in order not only to win a victory in a separate game, but to get into the team of foreign students of our university and defend the honor of the supporting university of the region.
