The final competitions of the VI All-Russian Summer Universiade-2018 started at the flagship university. The solemn and colorful opening ceremony took place at the stadium of BSTU on June 23.

The flagship university took part in the patriotic action «The Wave of Memory». BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov joined the numerous delegations of the leadership of the region and the regional center, enterprises representatives, organizations, educational institutions.

Department of Building Materials, Products and Structures of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov conducted an international webinar, attended by leading universities of the country: Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, North-Eastern Federal University, East Siberia State University of Technology and Management, Grozny State Oil Technical University named after M.D. Millionschikov, Far Eastern Federal University and others, as well as some EU universities - the University of Architecture and Construction in Weimar (Germany) and universities from Arab countries.

Students of 3rd and 4th year of the Department of Cement Technology and Composite Materials of the flagship university have been trained at FLSmidth company (Copenhagen, Denmark). The group was accompanied by the head of the department, doctor of technical sciences Ivan Borisov and assistant professor Dmitry Smal.

The first issue of the scientific journal «Geo science Vector» was published at the regional flagship university – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Original scientific articles focus on fundamental and applied problems of geodesy, land management and cadaster and other areas of the specialization group «Earth Sciences» are published in the edition

The admission campaign-2018 officially started at the flagship university of the Belgorod region. Institute of Magistracy, Institute of Technological Equipment and Machine Manufacturing, Construction Engineering Institute and Institute of Correspondence Education have become the most demanded on the first admission day.

Governor of the Belgorod region Evgeny Savchenko visited the regional flagship university. The head of the region got acquainted with the production laboratory of the engineering and racing team «SHUKHOV RACING TEAM», the development of the training and production center of creative workshops, the projects of the center for innovations and design «Metamorphosis». Also, an innovative 3D printer, which doesn’t have analogues in Russia, was presented to the head of the region.

The center of professional development of the university staff directs its activity to create conditions for ensuring continuous improvement of the qualifications of the scientific and pedagogical and managerial staff of the university and the formation of the need for continuous self-education among its members.

The department of real estate assessment and management is involved in the implementation of the international cooperation programs for the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of construction activities.

The third bike ride «Zdorovo!», organized by the interregional center «Zdorovo!» of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was held in Belgorod. This year students, activists of the center, representatives of the rector's office, university staff headed by the rector of the university Sergey Glagolev and the department for physical culture and sports of the administration of the city of Belgorod represented by its head Mikhail Noskov took part in the bike ride.
