On the 8th of February,the first regional technological festival named after V.G. Shukhov opened its doors to everyone who wants to plunge into the world of scientific and technical creativity and engineering education.

On the eve of the Day of Russian Science, the Belgorod State Philharmonic Society hosted the award ceremony of the great engineer V. Shukhov for the last year. Every year, the best of the best receive this award, continuing the work of the great inventor and scientist Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov.

The grand opening of the action "Snow landing" took place on the territory of the reference university at the sculpture of student groups. 60 volunteers will spend a week in the settlements of the region and provide the necessary assistance to local residents.

Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by Russian poet and film actor Vladimir Vishnevsky on a friendly visit. The excursion to the famous poet was held by the rector of the university - Sergey Glagolev, introducing the guest to the university.

For five years at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov students of various specialties create sports equipment of various types from scratch. Every year, participants in the SHUKHOV RACING TEAM student engineering project present their new Formula SAE race cars and Baja SAE class buggies with which they participate in prestigious engineering and sports competitions in Russia, Italy, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Anton Dikevich, Artyom Korneev and Victoria Saplinova, employees of the Department of Operation and Organization of Traffic, manage the project at the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

On 28th of January , the presentation of the Department of Mechanical Equipment, led by Professor Vasily Bogdanov, took place. At the presentation, they talked about the results of the activities of the educational unit, as well as about the plans and tasks of one of the oldest departments of the institute.

On the22nd of January, Vladimir Sevostyanov, head of the department of technological complexes, machines and mechanisms, together with Viktor Obolonsky, head of the new technology and technology development department of Ecotrans LLC, presented the project “Resource and energy-saving technology for the integrated processing and disposal of Solid municipal waste using internal resources and the receipt of marketable products. "

On 22nd of January a business trip was held for representatives of the flagship university, the administration of the Belgorod region, the leading construction companies of the region to the BAUMIT site in Wopfing (Austria).

On the 21st of January held an extraordinary meeting of the Academic Council of the flagship University – BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov. With the main question about the procedure for the election of the rector of the university and the approval of the list of candidates for the post of rector of BSTU. V.G. Shukhova was made by the Vice-Rector for Cultural, Educational and Social Work, Chairman of the Rector’s Election Commission Irina Avilova.
