Presentation of the Department of Mechanical Equipment
On 28th of January , the presentation of the Department of Mechanical Equipment, led by Professor Vasily Bogdanov, took place. At the presentation, they talked about the results of the activities of the educational unit, as well as about the plans and tasks of one of the oldest departments of the institute.
To date, the department has 35 employees, including 6 professors, 3 doctors of sciences and 18 candidates of science. Currently, training is underway for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs. There are 286 disciplines assigned to the department, including 61 disciplines by specialty, 149 by bachelor's degrees, 32 disciplines by masters, 36 by postgraduate studies. Also 4 online courses have been created at the department.
Over the past year, the department has published three monographs, one two-volume textbook, organized and held the All-Russian Olympiad in the direction of “Technological and machine equipment”, in which 23 universities took part. In addition, an international scientific-practical conference was organized and held and 32 patents were obtained.
Students of the department constantly participate in competitions and contests of various levels and take prizes. In 2019, at the All-Russian Olympiad in 3D technologies in Samara, students of the reference university took 1st place, at the Olympiad in computer technology and mechanical engineering - 2nd place in the team event. Also, students of the department actively participate in university and social events, are part of student associations.
In addition, the head of the department noted that the staff of the unit is actively involved in information work among students in schools and specialized institutions.
At the end of the presentation, the university management recommended to pay attention to the possibility of advanced training of teachers of the department in the field of digital technology 3-D modeling.
