SRI NMC
In 2007 Scientific Research Institute of Nanosystem in material construction studies for the implementation of creative concept of neo-composite of construction spheres was organized in BSTU to use natural and technogenic nanosystems. This institute is headed by counselor of RAACS, Dr.(Sci.Tech.), Professor Strokova V.V.
Currently there are 14 research and development laboratories which are directed by leading experts of the Russian Federation headed by Scientific Research Institute NMC.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF NMC carries out planned and initiative fundamental and applied research work in the interdisciplinary areas of nanosystems construction materials science.
However for the solution of major fundamental and application tasks in this sphere, there is a need for a unique instrumental basis and creation of new schools of sciences. All this can take decades. Hence the BSTU initiated the creation of a consortium which has combined the efforts of scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian academy of architecture and construction sciences the leading international scientists.
The activities of the consortium and Scientific Research Institute of Nanosystem construction materials sciences have obvious innovative character. This has provided the possibility to create an environment of knowledge generation, to create a national innovative infrastructure directed to the solution of perspective tasks in the field of synthesis and research of nanosystems for creation of new classes of binding, composition and constructional materials for construction and special purpose. The high level of research and development operations carried out within the consortium and scientific research institute allows new qualitative level of training of elite experts of high qualification in the materials research aspects capable to define and solve problems of development, the study and creation binding composition materials on their basis with the use of nanosystems responding to the needs of modern construction materials market, and promoting competitiveness of domestic production in the world market under the import substitution conditions.
In 2017, the scientific school led by the advisor of RAACS, Dr. Tech. Sciences, Professor Valeria. V Strokova has been chosen the winner of the tender to receive grants (2108-2019) of the Russian Federation President which gives government support for the leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation in 2018-2019 for the project implementation "Development of physicochemical principles for the complex modification of hydration hardening materials with plasma-chemical surface treatment for creating coatings structurally conjugate to the matrix composite".
The concept of using non-traditional natural and technogenic raw materials of various genetic types, taking into account its typomorphic features and phase-size factors, is developed and implemented within the framework of the activities of the scientific school,
Also, a number of fundamental studies were carried out to develop principles for managing the structure formation of composite astringents, building materials and products of various classes, a number of technologies and materials were introduced in Russia and in a number of foreign countries.
The team is the executor of the international tripartite project within the framework of the Federal Target Program «Research and Development in Priority Areas for the Development of Russia's Science and Technology Complex for 2014-2020», Activity 2.1, «Conducting researches on agreed priority directions involving research organizations and universities of BRICS countries in the framework of the multilateral research BRICS initiative». Foreign partners - Jinan University (China), CSIR-Central Research Institute (India).
