Computer programs
Copyright of all types of the computer programs (including operating systems and program) expressed in any language and form, including text source and code, is protected the same as literary works copyright. The computer program is a set of data provided in the objective form and commands intended for functioning of a computer and its other devices for the purpose of obtaining a specific result including the preparatory materials received during computer program formation, and audiovisual displays.
The owner during validity period of the exclusive right to the computer program or database can register voluntarily such program or such database with the federal executive authority of intellectual property.
The computer programs and databases which contain state secret are not subject to the state registration. The person who submits an application for state registration (applicant) bears responsibility for computer programs and databases disclosures which contain data which are state secret according to the legislation of the Russian Federation.
The agreements of alienation of the exclusive right to the registered computer program or the database and transition of exclusive right to such program or database to other persons without contract are subject to the state registration in federal executive authority on intellectual property.
