Identifying the Aspects for Cooperation
During the visit, the delegation of the Embassy of Iraq in the Russian Federation met the academic staff of the University.
The Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Hussain Tuayma Muttair spoke about the prospects of developing relations between the two countries in the near future. "Your university is well known in Iraq, almost every university chancellor in our country knows about it. Mainly it is due to the high level of training. This year, one hundred representatives of Iraq will be the students at BSTU. 40 members of academic staff will be sent on professional improvement courses at your university. Currently, Iraq is implementing a program by which 10,000 students each year are sent to study abroad - 100 of them to your university! Tuition fees will be paid by the government of the Republic of Iraq. We also plan to send students to your university to learn Russian for further training at other higher educational institutions. This is big step in the development of our cooperation.
The Deputy of the Cultural Attaché Mr. Abdeldzhalil Yasin told that currently in 51 000 professionals trained at Russian universities and in the former USSR are working in the economic system of Iraq. They occupy key positions in the economy and government, and so today the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Iraq is regarding Russian education as a major prospect.
The Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Tuayma Muttair Hussain thanked the Chancellor of Belgorod State Technical University named after V.G. Shukhov, Ph.D., Professor. S.N. Glagolev, Vice-Chancellor for International Relations, Prof. R.V. Lesovik and Dr. Yasser Allaham for his great contribution to the development of cooperation between the two countries.
Sergey Nikolaevich thanked the representatives fro the appreciation: "You have made the right choice. We have a wide range of specialties for the construction industry. "
Dr. Yaser Allaham spoke about the work of Arabic language club, which also teaches about the culture of Arab countries, and stressed that today the language is spoken in 23 countries in the Middle East.
