The head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia discussed the issues of training engineering personnel
As part of the working visit to Rostov-on-Don, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science visited the Rostselmash plant, which, together with the Don State Technical University, is participating in a competition to create an advanced engineering school. A meeting was held at the production site to discuss the development of human resources for the agro-industrial sector as part of the interaction between universities and an engineering center created on the basis of the enterprise with grant support from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. The conversation was attended by Igor Guskov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region, Bessarion Meskhi, Rector of DSTU , and Valery Maltsev, Director General of Rostselmash. Valery Falkov noted that in order to select advanced engineering schools for the project, it is necessary to meet high requirements.
“One of the key conditions in the project to create engineering schools is the participation of high-tech companies. Students should receive practical skills in order to be in demand at the enterprises of the real sector of the economy upon graduation. Another condition is the training of teachers at the best production sites in the country. Of course, only in combination all these measures will help to achieve the set goals and train qualified personnel for the Russian economy,” said Valery Falkov. The minister drew attention to the fact that in the project of creating advanced engineering schools, a lot depends on the team and the leader: its director must also have entrepreneurial abilities and consider this project to be his life's work. We need to carefully prepare for the defense, which will take place at the end of June. “A large resource has been allocated for the implementation of the project: about 40 billion rubles until 2024. This amount will be directed to special equipment, development of human resources and creation of space for experiments,” said the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
