Cooperation with Pakistan
At the Belgorod State Technical University named after V.G.Shukhov, simultaneously with the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Moscow, cooperation began with the Pakistani University COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad campus. The university is among the best universities in the world according to QS World Universities Rankings 2020. Dr. Zakir Hussain is a guest of our university this week. He told the Shukhovites about his country, about the role Pakistan plays on the world stage, about education and opportunities for students, about the development and prospects of scientific activity. The students attended a course of lectures on vector and tensor algebra and mathematical modeling.
During the visit, Zakir Hussein took part in the work on scientific projects and in the seminar of the POVTAS department. “We are positioning the works on cleaning up industrial emissions using nanotechnologies for implementation in the region. Such cooperation is very useful, since Pakistan is a dynamically developing country, occupying a leading position in terms of QS after China. And the scientists who work there are now at the forefront of science,” said Alexander Belousov, director of IEITUS BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The plans include expanding cooperation: joint publications, research, supervision of undergraduates and graduate students, as well as special courses for students.
