University professor took part at the Russian-Chinese forum of engineering technologies

The Eighth Russian-Chinese Forum of Engineering Technologies was held online on November 24. The forum was held within the framework of the agreement signed in June 2019 by the heads of state of China and Russia on Russian-Chinese scientific, technical and innovative cooperation in 2020-2021. Russian and Chinese scientists, presidents of scientific, technical and engineering societies, representatives of academic and university science discussed issues of developing scientific and technical ties between Russia and China, expanding and deepening cooperation in the field of engineering technologies.

The forum was organized by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations (RosSNIO) and the Chinese Association for Science and Technology. The work of the forum was opened by the secretary of the secretariat of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology Wang Jinzhan and vice-president - first secretary of the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations Sergey Drukarenko. Among the speakers at the forum from BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was attended by Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the RAASN, Professor, Head of the Department of Building Materials Science, Products and Structures Valery Lesovik. His presentation was devoted to transdisciplinary research as a theoretical basis for improving the human environment.

Valery Stanislavovich focused on the fact that civilization is now going through a critical stage in its development.

The way out of this situation is the transition to transdisciplinary research. To solve the problem of improving the human environment, it is necessary to unite scientists of all specialties: doctors, physicists, chemists, materials scientists, etc. “A person is up to 90% of his life surrounded by building materials, so new generation building composites, which are developed within the theoretical provisions of geonics (geomimetics), will be able to protect against the action of anomalous natural and man-made processes, various epidemics,” Valery Lesovik emphasized. Speech by the scientist BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov aroused considerable interest of the forum participants also by the fact that the speaker proposed, within the framework of the Russian-Chinese Union of Scientists, to create science cities and several mega-grants to unite leading experts in solving environmental problems and improving life on the planet; make changes to the legislative system of states, introduce transdisciplinary approaches to science and education; create nature-like technologies. The main slogan of the XXI century - "Scientists and engineers of all countries unite" - implies a more active involvement in political life, the creation of a new system of world order. Vice-President of RosSNIO Sergey Drukarenko expressed his deep gratitude to Valery Stanislavovich for his outstanding presentation and new ideas for expanding interaction between Russian and foreign research centers.
