Prospects for interaction of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov with Rosatom
Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov may become a place for the implementation of a project to create regional engineering centers in the field of additive manufacturing technologies of ROSATOM State Corporation - this was discussed during the visit of the company's delegation jointly to the Department of Economic Development of the region on September 23, 2021.
BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov has long and confidently implemented a number of science-intensive areas of engineering activities related to digital production and digital twins, is a developer and co-executor of a number of large research projects for the implementation of hardware and software solutions for digitalizing industries, successfully graduates students in the areas of training digital engineering and production -information technologies. In a number of areas - construction printing, additive-modular production, digital lifecycle management of an industrial product and the improvement of distributed technological design systems, the flagship university is rightfully ranked among the leading research and educational centers of the Central Federal District.
The second half of the visit to the Belgorod region was devoted to acquaintance with the university production and research base, leading researchers and developers in the field of digital production, their current and promising projects and initiatives. The guests got acquainted with the equipment of the scientific departments of the university engaged in digitalization and technological equipment of production facilities, visited the computer-aided design laboratory, which shared the experience of digital prototyping and design production in the Siemens PLM Software environment, the building information modeling laboratory, which presented its developments in spatial scanning of buildings, virtual reality in construction training and control, the center for advanced technologies, which presented developments in the technique and technology of construction printing of buildings and structures, visited the center of youth innovative creativity "Metamorphosis", familiarizing themselves with their experience in additive manufacturing engineering and the formation of an environment for realizing the creative potential of students. Representatives of the multidisciplinary holding noted the worthy material and technical support of the scientific and innovative departments of the university, the readiness of the university to play a leading role in the planned engineering center and expressed interest in the development of new forms and formats of academic and professional cooperation within the framework of the global trend of industrial informatization.
