University professor decorates Egyptian Opera Park with sculpture of Russian ballerina
With the support of the Minister of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Enas Abdel-Dai, and the President of the Egyptian Opera House, Dr. Magdi Saber, a statue of the famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova was installed in the Damanhur Opera Park.
Her sculptor is a professor at the Department of Architecture of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Professor of Fine Arts of Cairo University, Dr. Elservi Osama Elsayed Mahmoud Mohamed. An art exhibition of the author's works was also held at the grand opening.
The professor has been providing great assistance in holding international plein airs at the flagship university since 2015. For five years, the university has been hosting talented masters from all over the world in order to expand and strengthen international relations, exchange experience and develop cooperation in the field of professional fine and architectural contemporary art.
Representatives of Egypt, Syria, Kuwait, Morocco participate in the International plein airs on architecture and painting, many of whom are not only famous artists in their homeland, but also teachers of educational institutions.
Professor Osama Elservi sculpted a bust of Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov in gratitude to the university for its contribution to the development of science, art and international relations. The sculptural compositions performed by the author adorn dozens of cities around the world. Also, the honorary professor of the university held several art exhibitions in the museum of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
