BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov took part in an online seminar on construction materials science
On August 27, 2020, employees of the Department of Building Materials Science, Products and Structures of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov took an active part in the scientific and practical online seminar "Actual problems and modern solutions in the field of building materials science."
On behalf of the flagship university, the participants of the scientific and practical online seminar were greeted by the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of BSTU Valery Lesovik. Valery Stanislavovich noted the high importance of the event: "The conditions of the pandemic confirmed the need for scientists from all over the world to create materials that protect people from the negative impact of natural and man-made processes."
Many forum participants were interested in the report of the doctoral student of the Department of BSTU Evgeny Glagolev on the most relevant direction in the construction industry - additive technologies. In his report, Evgeny Sergeevich focused on the need to develop compositions of new generation composite binders for additive technologies in construction.
A post-graduate student of the department of BSTUAhmed Ahmed Anis Ahmed spoke about the creation of a composite using fragments of destroyed buildings and structures in Iraq.
As part of the online seminar, it was noted that many of the presented works were carried out within the framework of the theoretical provisions of the new scientific direction of geonics (geomimetics). They also discussed issues related to reducing the material consumption of buildings, increasing the water resistance of concrete, etc.
At the end of the online meeting, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Investment Activity of GGNTU named after M.D. Millionshchikov Murtazaev S.-A.Yu. noted that such events became possible due to the use of the experience of the Department of Building Materials Science, products and structures of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, who has been conducting online events of various levels for 10 years.
