A conference of workers and students was held at the Flagship University
On the July 9, 2020 a conference of workers and students of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. was held. The conference was attended by 149 delegates from 167 declared (18 people were absent for a good reason).
Within the framework of the conference of workers and students, a presidium of 3 people was elected:
1. Professor Glagolev Sergey Nikolaevich - rector of the university;
2. Professor Evtushenko Evgeny Ivanovich - First Vice-Rector;
3. Associate Professor Golikov Georgy Georgievich - Chairman of the trade union organization BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
There was one question on the agenda: a report on the work of the Academic Council of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, which was made by the scientific secretary of the Academic Council of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Tatyana Duyun. Tatyana Alexandrovna said that the Academic Council is a representative collegial governing body of the university and highlighted the solution of which issues is within its competence.
The report focused on key issues — preparation of the university for state accreditation, consideration by the Academic Council of proposals for the introduction of new areas and specialties, and also highlighted a key event of the reporting five-year period — the university gaining a new status of a reference university and implementing the development program of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
“According to the results of the program in 2019, the university entered the four of the best of 22 major universities in Russia,” Tatyana Aleksandrovna Duyun emphasized in her speech.
This was followed by speeches by employees of the reference university. Golikov Georgy Georgievich, chairman of the trade union organization, positively described the work of the Academic Council and proposed to recognize it as satisfactory. Sevostyanov Vladimir Semenovich, head of the department of technological complexes, machines and mechanisms, and Moiseev Mikhail Vadimovich, chairman of the Joint Council of Students of the University made the same proposals.
The work of the Academic Council of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was unanimously rated as satisfactory.
A proposal on the new composition of the Academic Council was made by Tatyana Aleksandrovna Duyun. As a result of the vote, all candidates were elected to the elected part of the Academic Council of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

The rector of the reference university Sergey Glagolev also spoke about the work of the university in a pandemic. Sergei Nikolaevich noted that BSTU them. V.G. Shukhov completed the school year online. However, a wide variety of forms and methods of technical support for distance learning, a non-standard approach to conducting classes and a willingness to constantly modernize forms of work made it possible to ensure the participation of students and teachers in the educational process in full.
“Despite all the difficulties that arise, spring sessions were successfully held at the supporting university of the region and graduation theses were adequately protected. And I would like to express my gratitude to the entire faculty, technical and creative services of the university for the excellent organizational work in these incredibly difficult conditions, ”said dr.
