Visit of the delegation from Iraq
On May 30 Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G Shukhov received a delegation from Iraq, which included 30 representatives of Teachers Association of Iraq.
By tradition, the visitors laid flowers to the monument to the great Russian engineer V.G Shukhov. Then they met the University chancellor, professor, Dr. S.N Glagolev in the hall of the Academic Council, where the representatives of the Iraq were told about integrated activities at the university.
In his turn, the President of Teachers Association of Iraq, Mr. Mohsin Ali Nsaif thanked the university for the warm welcome and introduced to the activities of the Association, which has a high status and wide-ranging powers, brings together all the school teachers and university professors. This NGO is working closely with the Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Enlightment.
Defining the purpose of the visit, Mr. Mohsin Ali Nsaif noted that the delegation is interested in the work experience in the field of education in Russia, and particularly, in Belgorod. The guest said he was confident that our collaboration will enhance the friendship between the peoples.
Then the guests were given a tour of the university and the city, during which they could get acquainted with the material and technical base of the university and the sights of Belgorod.
The visit to Belgorodia will last till June 21 and will include: international education workshop, meeting with the Department of Education, Culture and Youth Policy of the Belgorod oblast, and school principals in Belgorod, the discussion of issues of professional self-determination of young people, visiting urban and rural schools , universities in Belgorod oblast. The visitors from Iraq can learn about the history, cultural traditions, the development of health and medicine in the region. In addition the delegation will take part in sports competitions.
At the end of the visit the parties intend to sign a cooperation agreement between BSTU and Teachers' Association of Iraq, which will strengthen the friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries.
