The project Crossroad of Memory from a student of the flagship university
The path to success is complex and thorny: it is always full of obstacles that need to be overcome, and trials that temper character. This can be confirmed by absolutely anyone living with their idea and striving to bring it to life. Including our student Zhennifer Letkemann, who has devoted not one year to the development of her social project “Crossroads of Remembrance”.
Zhennifer dreamed of becoming an architect since childhood. In her youth, she already won the Grand Prix of the regional contest of the regional government “We are Belgorod residents! Think, decide, act! ” This competition for schoolchildren, with the support of the Governor of the Belgorod Region, Yevgeny Savchenko, has become a tradition at a flagship university in the region.
After winning the regional competition, victory was won at the All-Russian Forum "Tavrida", where neither more nor less were won, but as many as 1,500,000 rubles.
In each case, the victory was brought to Zhennifer by the developed and designed project “Crossroads of Remembrance” - a monument to the losses during and after the Great Patriotic War. Work on the implementation of the project is actively going on in the center of Prelestnoye village, Prokhorosky district - in the place that actually became the epicenter of the 1943 tank battle.
“The idea came to my mind when I found out that the villagers have a tradition: on 12 of July they take out funeral tables, get together and remember those who have not returned from the war. I decided that this tradition must be preserved, and a special place should appear. Already even agreed with a rural school that after the construction of the monument, students will look after him, ”said Zhennifer.
The “Crossroad of Memory” will be dedicated to the eternal memory of those who died on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War, their widows and children of military hard times. It will be a reinforced structure with stone bas-reliefs. There will be eight of them, and they will be faceless. As conceived by the author, we can also be in the place of each of them.
The head of the working group for the erection of the monument is Olga Pavlova, Deputy Governor of the Belgorod Region. All work is carried out under the close supervision of the head and the personal presence of the project author on the site.
The implementation of this project is particularly relevant and important in such a significant year for the whole country, the year of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
