The rector of the flagship university took part in the international Justin readings
The First International Justin Readings “The Serbian Church: from Savva to the present day. History and Modernity. ” took a place at the Belgorod Orthodox Theological Seminary.
The meeting was organized jointly with the branch of the pan-Orthodox society "Rev. Justin Celi and Vranski" and dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Starooskolsky addressed the participants, organizers and guests of the international readings, who noted that “the education of Serbia is especially actively connected with Russia, the Slavic brothers Cyril and Methodius. Thanks to their mission, we have Slavonic translations of the Holy Scriptures and, together with the fraternal Serbian people, entered the Eastern Orthodox Church, and not the Roman Catholic. ”
Within the framework of the conference, the rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Sergey Glagolev was awarded the medal of the Russian Orthodox Church by St. Joasaph, Bishop of Belgorod for his hard work for the good of St. Belogorye. The highest award was presented by Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol.
The rector of the reference university, speaking at the opening of the first international Justin’s readings, noted the importance of opening the Belgorod branch of the pan-Orthodox society “Rev. Justin Chely and Vransky,” named the honor of an outstanding defender of the Orthodox faith in the 20th century.
“I hope that the branch will significantly contribute to the further development and strengthening of Russian-Serbian youth cooperation. For more than 15 years, the University of Technology has been developing close cooperation with various cities of Serbia, cooperation takes place in various fields: art, education and industry, ”said Sergey Glagolev.
Among the speakers, her report was presented by the Director of the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Victoria Ryapuhina. The Institute develops international relations with Serbian partners in the field of education, science and culture.
