The results of the 14th International Congress on Applied Mineralogy
The final day of the congress on applied mineralogy began with the seminar "Applied mineralogy in the study of industrial minerals (the experience of the Commission of the Russian Mineralogical Society for Technological Mineralogy)".
Vladimir Schiptsov, Chairman of the Commission for Technological Mineralogy of the Russian Academy of Mathematics, Head of the Department of Mineral Raw Materials, Institute of Geology, Karelian Research Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, presented a report on the history of technological mineralogy. The speaker drew the attention of listeners to the prerequisites and reasons for the development of this scientific direction, highlighted the main stages of its formation, spoke about the main principles and development trends of technological mineralogy today.
Special attention of the seminar participants was drawn to the results of scientific research and projects for the search and study of minerals implemented in this field.
In conclusion, the organizers and guests of the event summed up the five days of the congress. Foreign and domestic scientists expressed their gratitude to the leadership and staff of the supporting university of the region for the high level of preparation and holding of the event, for interesting excursions around the Lebedinsky GOK and to the Prokhorovsky Field Museum-Reserve.
Congress participants emphasized the special need to develop international relations in the field of applied mineralogy, expressed hope for the speedy implementation of the goals.
