The University launched the Fifth International Plein Air of sculptors and architects
The opening ceremony of the open air took place on September 25 at the territory of the flagship university of the region. The central theme is “Outstanding Scientists and Engineers of the World”. Among the participants of the event are professors, sculptors and architects: Osam El Servi (Egypt), Issa Dib (Syria), Hatim Hamid (Egypt), Bassam Ibrahim Susnak (Syria), Almadhun Khalil (Bahrain).
For five years, BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hosts talented artists from around the world with the goal of expanding and strengthening international relations, sharing experience and developing cooperation in the field of professional fine and architectural contemporary art.
Rector of the regional reference university Sergey Glagolev, head of the road infrastructure and transport department of the construction and transport department of the Belgorod region Anna Gamurak, rector of the Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture Sergey Kurgansky, head of the department of architecture and urban planning and chief architect of the city welcomed the participants and guests of the event -Sergey Kiselev.
“From year to year, talented sculptors from around the world come to us. These masters work real miracles. In a matter of weeks, they turn blocks of stone into unique works of art, as well as conduct master classes and communicate with our students and teachers. All this plays a large role in the development of close international relations in the field of education, business and culture.
I think many of us have thought more than once about what art is. I came to the conclusion that art can be called only that which causes genuine emotions in a person, something that causes goosebumps on the body. Dear friends, I wish you to create just such sculptures, works that will delight us and our descendants for many years to come, ”the rector of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov -Sergey Glagolev.
Rector of the Belarusian State Institute of Cinematography Sergey Kurgansky mentioned the role of art and creativity in human life: “Culture is the whole spectrum of a person’s spiritual life: morality, spiritual memory of the people, traditions, religion. Also the most important aspect of culture is the environment in which we live. She must be beautiful and inspired. The participants in today's event, make it one of them, fill our life with a deep and important content. ”
Professor of Fine Arts, Cairo University, Professor of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Dr. Osama El Serviy thanked the leadership of the reference university for the care and high level of organization of the event, invited the students of the university to take part in the process of creating sculptures.
The international plein air will last two weeks. During this time, craftsmen from Arab countries will work on works of noble and complex stone - marble.
The presentation of sculptures will take place in October in the territory of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
