The meeting of the Academic Council was held in BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov
Traditionally, the meeting began with the awarding of teachers, staff and students who have distinguished themselves in project, organizational and social activities. Professor Sergei Glagolev, the rector of the university at the university, presented diplomas and letters of thanks, after which the academic council proceeded to discuss the agenda.
The first to consider was the assignment of the BSTU military educational center to them. V.G. Shukhov named after General of the Army, Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Fedorovich Vatutin. The proposal was made by Vice-Rector for Security Vladimir Borisovskiy, as well as by the guest of the Academic Council - Anatoly Burik, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Regional Organization of the All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans of War, Labor, Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.
“I would like to say words of gratitude from the older generation, from veterans for the care that you show, for the kind friendly relations, for invitations to socially important events that you hold in your youth.
We will always remember and be proud of the great feat of our ancestors, committed in the Great Patriotic War. Today we are addressing our past, sacredly honoring the feat of everyone who brought the Great Victory at the cost of their lives. Among those who forged a victory over the Nazis, our countryman is Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Vatutin. His feat will live for centuries.
Assigning the name Vatutina will help educate the youth of a sense of belonging to the preservation of the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War and its commanders, responsibility for the fate of their homeland, ”said Anatoly Burik.
The academic council of the university supported the initiative. Rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Sergey Glagolev proposed holding events with assigning the Vatutin Military Training Center on October 1, the Day of the Ground Forces, and concluding an agreement with the Vatutin House-Museum, establishing a commemorative scholarship named after General Vatutin and asking the Architectural Institute to hold a competition to make the hero’s bust. It will be put on the military department.
The meeting continued with a presentation by Yevgeny Doroganov, Director of the Education Policy Department. He spoke about the development of educational programs in accordance with the requirements of the GEF VO (3 ++). Yevgeny Doroganov proposed to define uniform evaluation criteria for the most effective work of the entire university structure. Members of the meeting supported the proposed initiative.
Information about the results of the university’s international activities in 2018 and tasks for 2019 was presented by the pro-rector for international activities, Ruslan Lesovik. The university’s work at the international site shows growth and development. According to Ruslan Valerievich, the number of studying foreign citizens has increased. The team of the academic council made adjustments for the tasks for the current year and unanimously agreed with the proposed ideas for further work.
