The university signed an agreement with the Merowe University of Technology
The delegation of the Republic of Sudan led by Ahmed Khalifa Mohamedali Idris, a counselor of the embassy in Moscow had visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov with business trip.
The delegation also included the rector of the Merowe University of Technology- Dr. Mohammed Elamin Hamza Elamin Elmahi, and the dean of the Faculty of National Science Kamal Alhaj Alhasin Abdrahman. They came to Belgorod to sign a cooperation agreement with a supporting university in the region, to get a closer look at its activities and achievements.
The Republic of Sudan is interested in educational exchange with Russia. According to the embassy counselor, 1,500 students left for the Soviet Union due to their warm relations. Now they occupy leadership positions in various fields, companies and departments, because they received a good education.
“Last year, an education protocol was re-signed between Sudan and Russia,” says Ahmed Khalifa Mohamedali Idris. - We have direct instructions from our leadership to strengthen these relations. Russia gives us 30 places every year. Smaller than in Soviet times, but it's nice that this number is constantly growing. We are interested in cooperation not only with Moscow, but also with the regions, expanding the number of places. ”
At the meeting with the directors of the institutes and the heads of the departments of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Sudanese told about their young, but significant university - the First Technological University of Merowe.
“About 5,000 students are currently studying there. We have institutes of engineering, medicine, natural sciences and others. 100 scientific employees work. We are here in Belgorod to get you invaluable experience in the development of a university, ”said Dr. Mohammed Elamin Hamza Elamin Elmahi, the university rector.
During the visit, the guests signed a cooperation agreement between the Merowe University of Technology and the base university of the Belgorod Region.
The delegation also invited Technologist to come to a large forum. “At the end of this year, we want to organize a Russian-Sudanese university rector’s forum. He will be received directly by the First Technological University of Merowe.
