Academic Council of the University held the first meeting in the coming year
The first in 2019 meeting of the academic council of the flagship university of the region was held – BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov. According to the established tradition, the academic meeting began with the presentation of awards to students, teachers and university staff who achieved high results in educational, scientific, social and other professional activities.
On the first issue on the agenda "On the prospects for the development of open source software at the university and the preparation of educational programs of open source vocational education for state accreditation", Tatyana Davydenko, vice rector for innovation, made a presentation. The speaker noted that in 2018 for educational programs of secondary vocational education at the College of High Technologies BSTU. V.G. Shukhov enrolled students in three areas of training: "Architecture", "Management, operation and maintenance of an apartment building" and "Rational use of environmental complexes". The average score of students enrolled in the “Technologist” is higher than the average in Russia, and the students' academic performance is recognized as good. Currently, preparations are underway for the procedure of state accreditation of the above-mentioned specialties, the degree of readiness of the necessary documents and methodological complexes more than 80%. Also, by 2021, it is planned to expand the range of existing areas of training to ten of the most sought-after specialties of programs of secondary vocational education, which will enable the High Technologies College of BSTU. V.G. Shukhov take a leading position among the institutions of secondary education of the Belgorod region.
With the second issue on the agenda "Scientific and Technical Library of the University: the results of work, tasks, guidelines" was made by the Director of NTB BSTU. V.G. Shukhov Margarita Grigorieva. Margarita Shafievna noted that at the end of 2018 in the library of "Technologist" there are over one million copies of printed and electronic editions of textbooks, guidelines, textbooks, journals and other materials. A planned update of the library fund was made for 29044 copies, and the content of the electronic library increased by 1780 copies of publications. The publication of the work of university scientists in the open access electronic archive was also active last year. This procedure allows you to increase the citation index of the scientist and is a worldwide trend. In addition, an important point was the increase in library demand among students, in connection with which the management of NTB BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov made a proposal to create a modern co-working center on the basis of the library.
The rector of the university, professor Sergey Glagolev presented awards to students, staff and teachers of the university, among them:
- A commemorative medal "For services to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov ”III degree - Lyudmila Naumova, Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry;
- Bronze medal and diploma of III degree to the winner of the final round of the Open International Student Internet Olympiad in the discipline "History of Russia" - Mikhail Zhuchkov (group NS-21);
- Diploma of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov - Oksana Smolenskaya, associate professor of the Department of Sociology and Management for training the winner of the final round of the Open International Student Internet Olympiad on the subject "History of Russia".
