The university became a partner of the automobile festival in Masterslavl
Within the framework of the program of early vocational guidance of schoolchildren (under 14 years of age), the children's city of masters "Masterslavl" organized and conducted a number of events dedicated to the automotive holiday - the birthday of the car. Flagship University – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov - was the educational and informational partner of the event.
Thematic feast "Birthday of the car" was visited by the rector of the supporting university, Professor Sergey Glagolev, and the pro-rector for cultural, educational and social work, Irina Avilova. The rector of the university appreciated the presented expositions and thanked the leadership of the children's center for organizing such a career-oriented event.
Young engineering and racing team BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov's “Shukhov Racing Team BAJA” presented its first off-road “buggy” type car under the name “Technolog-1” to visitors, with which the team became the winner three times at various competitions in the Baja SAE class.
The curator of the team, Victoria Saplinova, introduced the children to the car, told in detail about the technical features of the buggy. And the pilot of the team, Denis Nezhura, told about the past competitions and what tests the car and the pilot had passed.
“It is very important to prepare future personnel from an early age. Our young team “SRT Baja” is a prime example of project work for children. Despite a very young age, children already understand that a real team has a single goal, which means the “team” itself and the importance of an individual person in a project who performs his task. This event, above all, carries a career-oriented goal. And it is very nice that we are the ones who can become an example for the children of our region, ”said Victoria Saplinova, head of the engineering and racing team.
Employees of the department of operation and organization of motor transport gave a lecture and a master class on road safety, told about the history of the appearance of traffic signs and traffic lights. They also introduced the children to the world's first traffic accident that occurred on August 17, 1896 in London.
"It is necessary to teach children from an early age to the basics of safe behavior on the road and to tell them in a playful way how to ensure traffic safety," - said the head of the department Ivan Novikov.
For two days, young Belgorod people could meet and talk with the real engineering and racing team, sit in the buggy, feeling like a real sports car pilot. And also increase your knowledge base in the field of road safety.
