Young power engineers of the Belgorod region defended projects at the university
At the base of flagship university - BSTU. Named after V.G. Shukhov - the regional stage of the competition for students of educational institutions of the Belgorod region on electrical safety and energy efficiency “Energy and Man-2018” was held.
This competition is held for the fourth time, and its permanent organizers are the Department of Education of the Belgorod Region, a branch of IDGC of Center - Belgorodenergo, with the support of BSTU. V.G. Shukhov.
The opening ceremony was attended by honored guests: Director of the Institute of Energy, Information Technologies and Control Systems Alexander Belousov, Chief Specialist of the Educational Activity Support Department at the Department of Education of the Belgorod Region Yevgenia Kovalevskaya and Director of the Center for Pre-University Training at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Valery Korneev.
“It is very nice to see so many guys in our walls with burning eyes, and even more pleasant - that they are supported by their parents! Indeed, now more than ever the value of technical education has increased, and assistance in obtaining such competitions has increased. I urge all students not to be afraid to take the exam in physics and, in general, to get involved in it, because this is incredibly interesting! The main purpose of the creative competition is to increase the level of students' knowledge of electrical safety and efficient use and conservation of energy, the search and promotion of gifted children in the educational space of the Belgorod region.
The winners of the qualifying rounds - school and municipal, defended their projects in person in two categories: theoretical work (research project) and project work (model, layout, product, scheme, etc.). The guys from educational institutions in sixteen districts of the region told how to save money on bills in an ordinary house, get electricity from lemons, not harm the eyesight with the wrong lamps and protect your life. Leading specialists of the branch of IDGC of Center - Belgorodenergo, teachers of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov and NRU "BelSU.
It is worth noting that not only a victory, but also participation in the regional stage of the competition gives additional points for admission to the Institute of Energy, Information Technology and control systems.
The training areas of this institute are in great demand among applicants, and the competition for individual specialties from year to year averages up to 10 people per place. Therefore, this prize is especially valuable for children who decide to link their lives with energy and IT-technologies.
The results of the competition will be posted on November 27 on the website of the Olympiad of Belogory Schoolchildren. The winners of the regional competition “Energy and Man” can be recommended for participation in the final stage of the All-Russian competition of design works “Sirius”, and the awarding of winners will take place in December in the central office of the branch of IDGC of Center - Belgorodenergo in Belgorod.
