BSTU celebrated the Knowledge Day in the homeland of V.G. Shukhov
The third All-Russian Festival of Folk Culture "Printed Pattern Round Dance in bast shoes" was held in Graivoron (Belgorod Region) on September 1. It was dedicated to the celebration of the 165th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Grigoryevich Shukhov. The flagship university was the partner of the event.
The rector of the university Sergey Glagolev, the president of the university Anatoly Gridchin, the vice-rector for cultural and educational and social work Irina Avilova, the student activity chair, foreign students, representatives of the creative teams of the student palace of culture witnessed and participated in numerous events held within the framework of the festival.
The university administration took part in the solemn opening ceremony of the marble bust to engineer Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov. As is known, Grayworon is the small homeland of the great engineer. A unique bust was made at the annual international plein air, held in 2017. The author is an attaché on culture of the Egyptian Arab Republic, an honorary professor of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, doctor Osama El - Serwy.
The All-Russian Craft Fair was held at the central square of Graivoron on this day. BSTU students visited a lot of festival marketplaces: "Shatokhinskaya Meal", "Shukhov Plain Air", "Sacred Russia", "Change Paris to Graivoron" and many others. Participants of the festival witnessed the established jubilee record of the planet on weaving from the vine - "The largest wicker tower".
The "Printed Pattern Round Dance in bast shoes" was the most massive and exciting event, which was attended by all guests, the administration and students from all over the world. Foreign students of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov presented their national dances, a costume chintz parade was shown. All comers took part in tasting dishes and drinks.
