Freshmen summer labor semester completed
The summer labor semester of first-year students at the flagship university – BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov has come to the end. A solemn meeting in honor of the end of the semester was held on August 30 at the university square. About one and a half thousand future students had a labor practice at the university campus for one month.
Rector of the university Sergey Glagolev, president of the university Anatoly Gridchin, first vice-rector Nikolay Shapovalov, vice-rector for cultural and educational work and social work Irina Avilova, chief engineer of the university Georgy Golikov, directors of the institutes and representatives of the university administration congratulated the freshmen.
A graduate of Graivoronskaya school named after V.G. Shukhov, and now First-Year Student of Institute of Power engineering, Information technologies and Management systems Yuri Pogrebnoy addressed to administration with a response word on behalf of freshmen. He noted that it is a great honor to wear the proud title of Shukhov, which the newly-born students will carry with dignity in a year.
The meeting ended with a solemn moment: representatives of the administration, students and volunteers laid flowers at the monument to Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov.
