Priority issues of the university and student government considered during the Academic Council meeting
On June 28, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of the regional flagship university of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was held. Awarding of prizes to students, lecturers and university staff, who achieved high results in academic, scientific, inventive and other professional activities, became a good tradition during the council. The Awards were presented by rector, professor S.N. Glagolev.
The issues of actual forms of interaction between the university administration and the body of student self-government were discussed on the agenda during the meeting. Also, the attention of the Academic Council was paid to the implementation of the academic council decisions of the university for the academic year.
The report was made by vice-rector on cultural, upbringing and social work, professor I.P. Avilova. Irina Pavlovna noted that the student self-government of the support university of the Belgorod region actively participates in the life of the university - 25 student associations work successfully this year, and the total number of activists has reached 2100 people. The students assist in carrying out university events, take part in various competitions, and take initiatives at various meetings. The number of activists increased by 700 people in 2017-2018 academic year. This underlines the prestige and popularity of student self-government at BSTU.
