Day of the Russian language was celebrated at the university
Literary action «Sounding word», dedicated to the Day of the Russian language was held at BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov. The Day is celebrated on the birthday of the great Russian writer Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
Students and teachers of the flagship university gathered to honor the memory of the poet and read poems.
Vice-rector for cultural and educational work Irina Avilova, Director of Institute of Technological Equipment and Machine Manufacturing Sergey Latyshev, writer, publicist, member of the Union of Writers of Russia, head of the club of fans of Russian literature at Pushkarnaya Sloboda Stanislav Minakov became guests of the event.
Stanislav Minakov presented his colleagues in literary activity, poet, publicist, member of the Board of the Belgorod Union of Writers of Russia Valery Cherkesov and poet Tatyana Cherkesova were among them.
Also students of the flagship university performed with musical compositions. Maria Seminikhina student of Construction Engineering Institute performed with the song «The Ballad of Three Sons», while the student of Preparatory faculty for international students Adiamah Kevin Qwessy sang a song on verses by Alexander Pushkin «I Remember a Wonderful Moment».
On the same day, within the framework of the festival, a students' contest of readers of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov «Reading Pushkin», organized by the United Board of Learners (UBL). According to the results of the vote, Viktoria Khlusova took the first place, Olga Mishina received the second prize and Anna Gordei took the third place. Vice-rector for cultural, educational and social work Irina Avilova presented the prize-winners with certificates and memorable prizes.
