Festival «Serbian Days in Chernozemye 2018» was completed at the university
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation, Academician, Doctor Slavenko Terzic, and First Counselor Ms. Ivanka Stamenkovich visited the regional flagship university in the framework of the annual festival «Serbian Days in Chernozemye 2018».
The final day of the festival at the university, which took place from June 1 to June 4, began with the round table «Actual problems of Russian-Serbian cooperation: experience and perspectives». Before the event, the guests of the university traditionally laid flowers at the monument to engineer Vladimir Shukhov.
The Deputy Governor of the Belgorod Region, the Head of the Department of Internal and Personnel Policy Olga Pavlova, rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Professor Sergey Glagolev, vice-rector for cultural, educational and social work Irina Avilova, Yulia Aleksandrova, head of the department of special projects and external relations of the public relations department of the Belgorod city administration, Lyubomir Radinovich, president of the Russian-Serbian-Slavic Friendship Society «Slavic Bridge», Yevgeny Osenkov, the head of the Center «Russian-Serbian Dialogue», representatives of the international non-profit organization «Initiative Communications and Cooperation» Alexander and Snezhana Laketic, representatives of the regional higher educational institutions of were the honorary guests of the event.
On behalf of the Governor of the Belgorod Region Evgenia Savchenko Olga Pavlova delivered a welcoming speech.
Rector Sergey Glagolev also greeted guests. He recalled that in 2016 with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia a Resource Serbian Center was opened at the flagship university.
Dr. Slavenko Terzic thanked all those present and shared his impressions of the festival.
The round table raised the issues of cooperation between Russia and Serbia. The question of the dual citizenship of employees and students in exchange was a special issue in the discussions.
It should be reminded that the festival «Serbian Days in Chernozemye» started on June 1 at the Pushkin Library in Belgorod. The event was organized by the Center for International Cooperation «Russian-Serbian Dialogue» (Voronezh), the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications of BSTU, Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov (Belgorod). The organization partner of the event is the Initiative for Communication and Cooperation (Nis, Serbia).
The events were supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Russian Federation and the Belgorod regional Government.
The sport events included the jump of friendship «Russia-Serbia: friendship forever» and motor sport action (motocross and race of athletes) were held within the framework of the festive program. Also there gastronomic areas were arranged: the Chernozemye dinner from Victor Kobilov (Voronezh), Serbian street fast food from the SERBS company, special ice cream «Russian-Serbian Dialogue» from Ice Scream Roll (Belgorod), Belgorod gastronomic rows, gastronomic master- classes, treats, and exhibition.
Business meetings of the organizers and guests of the «Serbian Days in Chernozemye» and a series of signatures of the framework agreements between the participants took place at the flagship university campus.
The annual festival ended on June 4 with the concert «Russian-Serbian Dialogue» with the participation of the unified choir of Belgorod Theological Seminary with missionary orientation and the choir «Blagovest» from Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture, headed by Margarita Khimich.
The organizers of the event were awarded letters of gratitude for their assistance in organizing and participating in the festival. Also, partners were awarded for the development of twinning of Belgorod and Nish.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation Slavenko Terzic and rector of the regional flagship university Sergey Glagolev exchanged souvenirs and wished each other further fruitful cooperation.
