BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov provides international assistance in training highly qualified specialists
The university develops cooperation with foreign partners in the following areas: visiting professors, internship of teachers, undergraduates and graduates, joint scientific research, joint publications, academic exchanges, teaching of foreign students of Russian and English languages, holding international conferences and other scientific and technical events, implementation of joint educational programs with double degree diplomas, joint participation in competitions and grants for international projects.
The department of real estate assessment and management is involved in the implementation of the international cooperation programs for the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of construction activities. In the frameworks of IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) the exchange of students and researchers of BSTU and universities of Germany is carried out. Last year, the senior lecturer of the department of real estate assessment and management Maria Krutilova held a short-term scientific training at the department of energy economics of the Brandenburg Technical University in Cottbus. For its part, our department received a student Moritz Erendreich from a German university (Rostock).
This year, the department of real estate assessment and management again provided an opportunity to exchange technical developments in the construction sector. This time they received a student Ludwig Werum from Aachen (Germany). At the moment, Ludwig Verme is getting his master’s degree at Rheinisch-Westfälische Technical University, which is a member of the association of the nine best technical universities in Germany, as well as five leading universities in Europe. The young man received a bachelor's degree in the field of «Civil Engineering» with a quite high average score. At the moment he is doing his master's degree program «Construction Management and Geotechnical Engineering».
The internship consists of 4 working weeks, each of the weeks involves the solution of a specific kind of tasks in conjunction with staff and students of the department of real estate assessment and management. So, the first week includes the decision of tasks on optimization of organizational-technological decisions in engineering and business in the table editor. The second week is aimed at studying the methodology and tools of information modeling in construction. The third week is focused on the studying of the methodology and tools of structural analysis in finite element program complexes. In the last week of the internship, Ludwig Wehrm will take a course on «Optimization and Authorization in Building Pricing and Project Management in Construction».
Each week is completed with self-learning work on an individual assignment. Individual tasks are focused on the adaptation of the methods and algorithms considered, the harmonization of the domestic and German building codes, as well as the solution of the actual construction and town planning tasks of Belgorod and Aachen.
