Competitions between foreign students were held at the university
On May 19, 2018, the first athletics competitions between foreign students in the framework of the 165th anniversary of Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov were held at the flagship university stadium.
International students’ department, Department of Physical Education and Sports and activists of the Russian Language Club «Step into Russia» were the organizer of the competition.
The competitions were held in two stages. The first stage included a run for 100 meters’ distance. It was attended by 7 students who passed the preliminary stage. As a result, the first place was taken by a student from Congo Yannick Badibanga with a result of 11.02 seconds. The second was the citizen of Iraq, Anus Mohamed Al with a result of 11.63 seconds, and the third place was given to the representative of Nigeria with the result of 11.98 seconds.
The second stage of the competition was to overcome the 4x100 relay race. Students divided into teams of four. In total, three teams took part: French-speaking, English-speaking and a team of Arab students.
