The regional flagship university celebrates Victory Day
A solemn rally-concert dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War «All Russia remembers this day» took place in BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov.
The holiday, which became a symbol of the sacred relationship of Russia and its people, which is gently and reverently is passed on through generations. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, participants in local armed conflicts, the management of public organizations, the administration, directors of institutes, staff and students of the university came to celebrate this day.
Veteran of the Great Patriotic War, participant of the Battle of Kursk, «Iron Lady» of Belgorod, 96-year-old Maria Denisovna Koltakova was among invited guests of honor at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
The festive program began with a visit to the thematic exhibition «The saved world remembers», dedicated to the Victory Day.
The solemn meeting at the university began with the welcome words of the guests. Rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Professor Sergey Glagolev told his words of welcome.
The Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans Natalia Zvyagintseva congratulated all the guests on the upcoming Victory Day, wished courage and health to veterans, high ideas and the best aspirations of the youth. Natalia Alexeyevna, on behalf of the Veterans Council, thanked the university administration for organizing the rally.
Representatives of the motor clubs «Night Wolves» and «Oplot» were specially invited to the celebration. Bikers together with Maria Denisovna Koltakova drove through the university square under the motto «Honest, proud, remember».
Rector Sergey Glagolev, together with the activists of the university construction brigades and invited bikers, laid flowers at the memorable Stella located at the university campus.
