Professor from Germany Hans-Bertram Fischer visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov
The famous scientist in the field of gypsum binders, Professor of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (Germany) Hans-Bertram Fischer visited the regional flagship university.
Professor Fischer met with the staff of the material science and construction department. During the meeting, he stressed that the department is the leading in the field of building materials science not only in Russia, but also in the EU countries.
Also, Professor Fisher invited the scientists of the department to participate in the International Congress on Building Materials 20 Ibausil. During his visit, the scientist visited the enterprise for the production of foam concrete «Ecostroimaterials», established by the graduate of the material science and construction department and gave a lecture for students majoring in "Construction".
The lecture of the professor was focused on the development of gypsum binders and composites based on a new generation. Also the issue on the use of technogenic raw materials for the production of gypsum binders was a priority.
BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov cooperates with the leading universities of Russia (Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Moscow State Construction University, North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov, the Far Eastern Federal University and others), the countries of Latin America, the Arab countries and China.
Leading scientists are invited to give lectures. The material science and construction department has a unique collection of video lectures given by such outstanding scientists of materials science as Peter Bozhenov, Igor Rybiev, Pavel Komokhov and others.
Among the scientists who take part in the educational process of the material science and construction department, we may mention the RAACS Academician Yuri Bazhenov, Professor Alex Teo Visser (University of Pretoria (South Africa)), Professor Horst-Michael Ludwig (Director FA Finger - Institute of Building Materials of Bauhaus University, the director of one of the leading institutes of materials science in Germany, Professor Viktor Mecherin (Dresden Technical University), Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the RAACS, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Valery Lesovik and others.
