The delegation of the university took part in the opening of the Russian corner in Serbia
At the invitation of the Bishop of Vranjsky, His Eminence archbishop Pakhomiya, students of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, students and those who do internship in Nis, as well as official representatives of the university, who arrived in Serbia to organize and conduct the Russian-Serbian humanitarian event «Brotherly Nis from Belgorod», took part in the opening of the Russian corner in the Vranje gymnasium.
The mayor and representatives of city government, business and organizations of the city, schoolchildren and their parents, as well as graduates of the Nis University, who participated in student exchange programs with BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov in different years attended the opening and consecration of the Russian corner.
BSTU representatives brought the icon of St. Iosaph, as a gift with the blessing of the head of the Belgorod Metropolitan archbishop John, as well as Russian souvenirs. The icon of St. Prochor of Pchinsky, books and laces of handwork, which are the region calling card were handed to the Institute as a gift.
During the event, the director of the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Victoria Ryapukhina took part in a meeting with archbishop Pakhomi, dean of the pedagogical faculty of the State University in the city of Nis, heads of the youth non-profit organization «Initiative of communication and cooperation – IKS» Alexander and Snezhana Laketich.
«The Vranje diocese actively cooperates with the Belgorod Metropolis, and archbishop Pakhomi has visited Belgorod many times. On his first visit in 2013, he was the Honorary guest of the Orthodox Youth Day which was hosted at BSTU. In August 2017, during his visit to Russia, he specifically visited Belgorod, the Institute of Serbian Language and Communications», said Victoria Ryapukhina, director of the institute.
