The University will become the site for the SKOLKOVO Innovation Competition
Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov will become a venue for the «Open Innovations Startup Tour – 2018» contest - the largest project in Russia and the CIS countries to search for promising innovative projects and develop the competencies of beginning startup teams.
It is planned to present more than 40 innovative projects from the flagship regional university, both from the small investment enterprises and from young scientists who took part in the projects «UMNIK», «Technocrat», «START» and others.
For those young innovators who already expressed the wish to participate in the contest, projects management training, organized by the Department of Economic Development of the Belgorod Region was conducted. The event was held by representatives of the South-Western State University (Kursk), where the «Open Innovations Startup Tour – 2017» was held.
The experts from the director of the Center for Innovation and Business Engineering Vladimir Zhuravlev, the head of the project business school of innovators INNOVSCHOOL, the participant of the Skolkovo Open University Svetlana Zhuravleva, the winner of the «Open Innovations Startup Tour-2017» contest in Kursk Denis Medvedev (TOP-5 of the best IT projects in Final StartupVillage - 2017) were the speakers at this event.
The speakers spoke about the opportunities for participation in this contest. They gave their recommendations on the project economics and told about the way to present their developments.
«This contest gives an opportunity for young scientists and young innovators to present their projects to experts from Skolkovo, to show their relevance and importance and to receive funding for the projects promotion with the possibility of their further commercialization», said Ilya Kryukov, head of the department for the organization of students research works of BSTU.
After the full-time stage, the winners will be able to present their projects at the Startup Village - a great platform for meeting young innovators with sponsors and interested people in order to promote their scientific innovative ideas.
The value of this event is that it is possible not only to attract money for the development of its projects, but to get a unique expert experience.
FYI: The Startup Tour «Open Innovations» is a project of the Skolkovo Foundation to promote innovative entrepreneurship in Russia, which includes various contests for young scientists. There is also a large educational component and a discussion part.
Usually the tour takes place in different cities of Russia. The first time it was held in 2011. This year the Open Innovations Startup Tour will be held in 10 cities in addition to Belgorod: Krasnoyarsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Tyumen, Izhevsk, Kaliningrad, Ulyanovsk, Ulan-Ude, Veliky Novgorod and Krasnodar.
