The engineering competitions start at the university
The engineering competitions and volunteers selection «Meta-Makerfest 2018 / spring» start in the center «Metamorphosis» at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
«Meta-Maker» is an engineering intensive competition to create unusual things for a limited time from a limited quantity of material. Competitions will be held in the nominations «Velo-engineering» and «Electro-engineering».
In the nomination «Velo-engineering» each team is given 3 sheets of plywood, machine tools, hardware and a pair of bearings. Participants should not only collect the prototype, but overcome it at a distance of 4 kilometers and defend the engineering the project.
The best projects will be involved in bicycle parade with other unusual bicycles on the Cathedral Square of Belgorod on May 17 in the framework of the international forum «Green Capital».
In the nomination «Electro-engineering» each team is given microcontrollers, prototyping boards, sets of resistors, servo drives and other components. Participants have to put the light gadget together.
«What are the advantages? Express course in engineering for 30 days: work on CNC machines, 3D printers, immersion in microelectronics and radio engineering, chain transmissions, multiplier connections, design in cad systems, new sensations and work in a dream team», - said the director of «Metamorphosis» center, Victor Babaev.
