BSTU student took gold at the Central Federal Region kickboxing Championship
From February 21 to 24, the Central Federal Region kickboxing Championship (full contact) was held in Kursk. The tournament brought together more than 300 athletes from 14 regions of the country. BSTU students, pupils of the wrestling club «Belogor» Daniil Timofeev and Artem Romenko participated at this event.
Timofeev met with an athlete from the Lipetsk region in the ring, but he lost to the rival despite the stubborn fight.
«I have worked very hard for competitions. Our club «Belogor» has all the conditions. Also I would like to thank the coach and my sparring partners who helped me a lot. I had a very difficult fight, which revealed my weaknesses. Next time I will prepare myself better and I definitely win, » DaniIl Timofeev said.
But the heavyweight Romenko was graces with the good luck; he has joined the national team of gold medalists of the Belgorod region and met the standards for the Candidate Master of Sports. Artem held two fights: the first fight was held with the Orel kickboxer, and the second - with Dmitry Eremin from Kursk. In the final fight Artem Romenko knocked out Eremin in 50 seconds and triumphed in advance.
«The first fight was quite easy for me, the opponent wasn’t strong enough. The final fight was harder, I really had a powerful rival, and I won only because of the patience, perseverance and desire to the victory!
Now Artem is actively training for the Russian Kickboxing Championship, which will be held in Ulyanovsk in April.
