The University celebrated The Fatherland Defender’s Day
A festive event dedicated to the Fatherland Defender’s Day and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Border Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Services was held at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. A traditional demonstration of military equipment was organized by the representatives of military units at the main square of the university for all guestst. Visitors attended the exhibitions of weapons and ammunition, the military field kitchen was opened throughout the day at the Student Palace of Culture of the flagship university, and at the square.
The President of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Anatoly Gridchin, first vice-rector Nikolay Shapovalov, vice-rector for cultural, pedagogic and social work Irina Avilova, vice-rector for security Vladimir Borisovsky, heads of institutes and departments of the university took part in this event.
All the guests were photographed in front of the military equipment at the university square, hold arms in their hands and asking questions to representatives of military units. The most curious visitors could sit in police cars and check the alarm system.
The schoolchildren have got a lot of impressions. «It was very interesting. It's great that you could examine everything in detail, touch it. I especially liked the weapon, » says Polina Logunova, a 6th year school girl from school № 7.
«I really liked the exhibition of cars. It's a pity, of course, that we did not sit inside the police cars, because there was a big queue of those who wished. But everything else - just super! »- Supported her classmate Daria Pestova.
The graduate student of the Department of Standardization and Quality Management, a document examiner for managing the training of highly qualified personnel in the postgraduate department Elena Stepova shared her impressions: «Everything is very interesting, but most of all I remember the porridge. It was so delicious! Guys put it up. The souvenirs, made of coin were great. I could not resist and bought a keychain with the image of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov from one side, and Prince Vladimir on the other side».
