The online conference on wood processing technologies was held at the university
The first international online conference «Modern Technologies of Woodworking Industry» took place at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on February 15-16. The conference was held at the initiative of the Department of Construction Materials Science, Products and Structures led by the Candidate of Technological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department Sergei Ovsyannikov.
More than 80 representatives from 12 universities of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine took part in the conference. Among them - St. Petersburg State Forestry Technical University named after S.M. Kirov, Northern Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Volga State University of Technology, Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies named after G.F. Morozov, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State Technological University, Kharkiv Petro Vasylenko National Technical University of Agriculture and many others.
The event was opened by the first vice-rector of BSTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nikolay Shapovalov, who had underlined the importance of the conference in solving production problems, as well as the opportunity to share their developments and conduct a discussion of pressing issues with leading scientists online. Young scientists, students and undergraduates can present here the results of their research, and manufacturing workers - to get advice from leading experts from other regions and states. Also, Nikolay Afanasyevich noted that new areas of training «Technology of woodworking productions» and the master's program «Woodworking technologies in construction» opened at BSTU.
On the first day, the head of the industrial automation project LidTech company, Andrey Kataikin made a presentation on new technologies for automated accounting and control of order advancement through the production process chain.
Leading specialist of the company «Basis Center» Nikolay Kaskevich from Kolomna made online presentation on new 10th version of the «Basis» system of complex automation of furniture enterprises and automation of design and engineering works. The integration of the software product with digital control modules for machine tools and equipment evoked particular interest.
On the second day of the online conference the reports of scientists and students were made. Subjects of reports covered various fields of wood processing: from logging and use of logging waste to design projects in furniture production and interior design.
The participants noted that the possibilities of the online conference significantly expand the range of speakers and audience, as well as increase the participation mobility. Representatives of enterprises concluded that the conference program provides current issues and reports that will improve the efficiency of production.
At the end of the event, the participants received certificates.
