The Honoured Visitor took part in the Exhibition Opening
During the visit to BSTU the rector of the Graduate Engineering School in Ales (France), Mr. Alain Dorizon visited the departments of mechanical equipment, technology of cement and composite materials, environmental engineering and a section of nanosystems in building materials science. With great interest Mr. Alain Dorizon acquainted with the laboratory facilities, technical support to the academic process, teaching staff and activities of the above departments.
The honored guest took part in the opening of the exhibition dedicated to scientific and technical creativity of students of universities and colleges in Belgorod. He examined the exhibits and praised the organization of the event. It was followed by the meeting with the University staff.
Opening the meeting, Prof. AM Gridchin, BSTU President, focused on issues of international cooperation, which are the priority issues for the university. In particular, Anatoly Mitrofanovich drew attention to the widespread development of cooperation with the universities in France.
Alain Dorizon gave a presentation of Graduate Engineering School in Ales (France). The School provides training in the following areas - materials, civil and environmental engineering, information technology. He also gave information concerning other Graduate Engineering School in France. Graduate School in Ales is a member of GEM, consisting of 7 Schools located in different French cities. The School is conducting extensive research, a greater part of which is made by the orders from industy enterprises or the government of France.
Alain Dorizon focused on the characteristics of training of engineers in his home country. According to him "The engineering profession in France gives a person not only high salaries but also a high status in society".
Among the students at Graduate Engineering School in Ales 15% are from abroad, including Russia. The system of students and teachers exchange is highly developed. The system includes obtaining dual degrees and training for a month, a semester or an academic year.
During the meeting, the members of the academic staff were able to ask questions.
