Student of the Year - 2010
On 17 November, on the eve of International Students Day, BSTU named after V.G Shukhov organized a show-program "Student of the Year 2010". This year it is the tenth of the most popular annual contests among male students. Ten of the most talented, smart, clever, charming contestants from all institutes and faculties of the university started their fight for victory. Groups of supporters consisting of group-mates, friends and even parents came to the show. They all were given an opportunity to confirm their choice by voting for the most worthy participant. And probably it was quite natural that the final judgment about the talents of young gentlemen was given by beautiful women of our university.
Competition program began with a
quiz. Contestants had to answer the question: what things like happiness,
friendship, affection, fate, talent and art would mean to them. Realizing the
importance of a good start, the participants did their best to guarantee support from the auditorium.
In the video competition, "If I were
..." the guys were talking about very personal things: belief in love,
friendship, need for human contact. In
conclusion, the Deputy Chairman of the Joint Trade Union Committee of the University
for the youth work Lyudmila Strekozova warmly congratulated all the students
with the International Students Day and announced the final results of the
competition program "Student of the Year 2010".
During the "presentation" contest it was already
possible to select the future favorites. Speaking about their talent, the candidates
have tried to present themselves in the best way. Presentations of Stanislav
Lomako (Architectire and construction Institute), Asyltas Sarsengaliev (Institute
of Construction Materials Science), Mahmat Usman Usman (Architectire and
construction Institute) sounded warm and heart touching. The audience was also
impressed by a dramatized philosophical parable about the good and the evil, presented
by Dmitry Kuzenkov (Faculty of machine-building technology).
But perhaps the most spectacular part of the show was the
contest "My hobby". Here, the contestants demonstrated their talents
and abilities. Nikolay Kikin impressed (IT) was singing his own songs and
played the guitar, dancing skills were performed by Dmitry Tsimbal (Environmental
Engineering), break dancing, judo and acrobatics were shown by Alexey
Shapovalov (IT), plastic of dancing and vocal skills - by Stanislav Lomako (Architecture
and Construction). But the most applause was given to Mahmat Usman Usman (Architecture
and Construction Institute, Association of Foreign Students in Russia). In his
presentation, he lovingly and nostalgically talked about his homeland - the
Republic of Chad, showing slides with the views of the nature of this African
country. When the applicant performed a Russian dance with the girl in a
national dress, the audience burst into applause.
The first prize and the title of "Student of the
Year-2010" was awarded to Stanislav Lomako (Architecture and Construction),
the second went to Alexey Shapovalov (IT), third to Asyltas Sarsengaliev (Institute
of Construction Materials Science). The Audience chose to give an Award to
