Number of foreign students at the BSTU reached 1500
In 1993, the first six foreign students appeared in our university, they were from the Kingdom of Morocco. Then there were other students from Africa and Asia: Algeria, Tunisia, Congo, Tanzania, Bangladesh. In 2000, they were joined by immigrants from Turkmenistan and other countries of the former USSR, foreign students became 55. And in 2007 we opened the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens,the number of students from foreign countries began to grow rapidly. They came both from the Ministry of Education and Science, and on a contract basis.In 2014 we had 1000 students and today there are 1,500 people in our university.
This was told by the rector of the university, Doctor of Economics, Professor S.N. Glagolev at a solemn meeting dedicated to the celebration of a 1,500-strong foreign student, which took place in the conference hall of the BSTU.
The lucky 1500 student became a citizen from Egypt.Rector of the University congratulated a 1,500-student with this honorary title, presented him with a certificate and a memorable prize, and E.V. Kapustin wished to achieve outstanding success in his studies.
All foreign students received memorable gifts and certificates from the hands of the rector of our university with wishes that our university will become a launching pad for their further life successes and realization of intellectual, scientific, public, sporting and creative potentials.
