Racing car for the Formula Student
Teacher of the department of service of transport and technological machines said that the idea of the car appeared in September of last year, when our team participated at the Russian stage of international Engineering student sporting events "Formula" Student ". Our team decided to create a competitive racing car capable of "formula-type corresponding to the regulations." We got the support from the rector of our university-prof. S. Glagolev. Nowadays our team is constantly expanding and is open to all comers.
We have a very good, powerful and reliable engine (120 horsepower), now we are upgrading it. Also we use standard parts of domestic cars, which have a serial production. Our main task is not only to win the competition on this car, but also to "sell" it to the judges. And for that it must be the best! In addition, it must possess such qualities to be able to organize a relatively inexpensive small-scale production. At the present time, racing becoming more popular around the world.
While working on this project, students use the knowledge and skills which they get during their studies. In addition, they get new skills that will be useful in future professional activities. For example, the ability to design in 3D, to work with CNC machines, laser cutting machines and others.
Nearest future will show us a new supercar made by students of our university.
